    Happy Valentine's Day!

    HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY
    & CONGRATS VS!!!

Quite honestly I find the whole idea of Valentine's Day to be overrated and way too commercialized.  This is mainly due to the fact that when I was in college I'd feel so terrible when V-Day rolled around.  I'd see all these girls walking around campus with their flowers and balloons.  My single friends and I would be moping around the dorm and then we'd all head out to celebrate our own "Singles" Valentine's Day at some restaurant.

Eventually I did enjoy Valentine's Day, but it was so lame because one year you had a Valentine and another year you didn't - so dumb!  So if you are single and reading this, V-Day is just another marketing tactic guys, don't fall for it, and if you do fall for the hype, just party it up with your single friends.  🙂  Having said that, now that I am married and have a Valentine for life (consistency is the key), I do intend to cook something nice for my husband, however we don't make a huge deal out of the day.  It's just a day to celebrate "us" with good food, usually my cooking!

In any case, another reason to celebrate today is because my husband started his new job and he was so excited leaving for work this morning.  I could sense his excitement and I was really happy for him.  It's always fun landing a new job, meeting new people, figuring out your duties in the new role, hearing positive feedback, and for people like me figuring out my lunch spots.

Anyway, for those of you who haven't yet figured out what you're making tonight, I put together a quick list of recipes that will be sure to please any palette on Valentine's Day.  You can serve most of these entrees with a glass of red/white wine.  Have a Happy Valentine's Day with your "honey"!  🙂

I loved that red velvet hot chocolate when you first posted it, and in a couple of months we'll be in winter so I'm going to give it a go!

First time to your blog and loving it!
We ate-in yesterday night. I made Bisi Bele Bhaath. For dessert, it was Emeril Lagasse's Lemon-scented Creme Brulee.
