Gift Guide: My Favorite Things of 2019

Grab your chai, today I’m sharing my 15 most Favorite Things of 2019. Everything from kitchen gadgets to skincare to makeup to fragrance to fashion. The one item I am on the fence about getting in 2019 was an Air Fryer because most of them have a nonstick coating. I may give in and get one in 2020 provided it is PFOA free. Without further ado, here are my most favorite items of 2019.

Kitchen

1. Instant Pot 6 Quart
I can’t live without my 6 quart Instant Pot. Although I don’t make a bunch of meals in it, I use it mainly for rice, lentils, and shredded chicken. One of my favorite products of 2019.

2. Le Creuset Dutch Oven, 2.75 quart
You all know I can’t live without my Dutch Oven because I talk about it on stories all the time. I use it mainly for soups, curries, and pasta. A little pricey, however you can find it on sale during the holidays. Williams Sonoma 3.5 quart | Amazon

3. Lodge Cast Iron Skillet
Perhaps my most used kitchen gadget, I use my cast iron skillet to make eggs, potatoes, and quick sautes. It’s so handy and easy to use. Once you practice you’ll get the hang of it, and I promise you will never go back to nonstick.

4. Ballarini Forged Aluminium Nonstick Stir Fry Pan, PFOA FREE
The only nonstick pan I own and it’s PFOA FREE. Ballarini’s nonstick stir fry pan is made in Italy and does NOT have a Teflon coating, but rather a granitium nonstick coating. It’s great for Thai curries, stir fry, subzis (Indian curries), or any dish that requires a lot of oil.

5. Krups Spice Herbs and Coffee Grinder
I literally use this coffee grinder to blend my dry herbs and use it to make marinades and chutneys. It comes in handy when you’re blending Indian spices to make items such as my Tikka Masala Pasta. A small and useful kitchen gadget.

Beauty

6. Supergoop Daily Moisturizer SPF 40
Since I’ve moved to sunny California, I’ve needed higher SPF. Supergoop has spf 40 and doesn’t leave a white/grey cast on my face. It’s super moisturizing!

7. Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Toner
I started using toners this year, and this one by Fresh is my absolute favorite. It smells lovely and removes my dirt, oil, and makeup.

8. Becca Under Eye Color Corrector
I’ve tested out a few color correctors, however this one by Becca is my favorite since it targets the color as well as the eye bag area. I’m in the shade medium to deep.

9. Becca Highlighter
A little bit goes a long way, the Becca highlighter in Champagne Pop gives you that perfect glow, and it’s ideal for brown to olive toned complexions.

10. Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer
After using Tarte Shape Tape for about 6 months, I switched back to Nars. Both Tarte and Nars are great concealers, however I found Nars to be a little more hydrating and less cakey than Tarte. I’m in the shade cafe con leche.

11. Anastasia Beverly Hills Jackie Aina Palette
I love the variety of colors in this palette… blues, purples, pinks, browns. I recently purchased this palette and I’m having a lot of fun with it. Great pigment.

12. Hourglass Blush
I was using Nars Orgasm for the longest time, and I finally bought a new blush – Mood Exposure by Hourglass. It’s a gorgeous, subtle pink plum color that works on any skin tone.

13. Travel Makeup Case
Since I travel often between California and New Jersey, I need all my makeup, skincare, and perfumes in one place. The last thing I wanna do is pack my makeup bag separate. I place my makeup bag in my drawer, zip and pack it up whenever I’m traveling. A must have! Large Size | Small Size

Fragrance

14. Tom Ford Soleil Blanc
My favorite fragrance purchase of the year. Both my husband and I love this scent on me. It’s soft, floral with orange notes. I love it!

Fashion

15. Barefoot Dreams Cozy Cardigan
Out of all the clothes I purchased this year, this is the one I wear all the time. Whenever I’m cold at home, I put this cardigan on. When I’m going to the grocery store and need something warm, I grab this cardigan. When I’m heading home to NJ, I take this cardigan for my flight. It’s my goto and super soft and cozy! Comes in 5 colors. I wear S/M Bisque.

And that’s it!

When I first moved to SoCal, I noticed Sushi Bowls When I first moved to SoCal, I noticed Sushi Bowls were quite popular here. Most of them are healthy, dairy-free, and nutritious... pretty much sums up how people in SoCal eat 😊. Sharing my take on a deconstructed sushi bowl made with tofu, jasmine brown rice, my favorite veggies, sushi ginger, and of course, spicy mayo. I made a Vegan Spicy Mayo since I'm not a fan of mayo, but you can always use the real thing. Recipe for this TOFU SUSHI BOWL + VEGAN SPICY MAYO is now on the blog.
