VERDICT: 4.5 / 5
The way this condo hotel is designed, all the one bedrooms are on the ground floor and supposedly they offer a partial ocean view, however to my dismay, I didn’t quite think this to be the case. Once we arrived we were given a one bedroom partial ocean view which is what we paid for, however there was no view of the ocean. Within 5 minutes my husband and I went to the front desk and requested a room with a “partial ocean view.” Since they were fully booked they weren’t able to accommodate us at the moment, however the next day they did upgrade us to a 2 bedroom room with a partial ocean view and a Jacuzzi. Although I was grateful, it was an inconvenience to change rooms. Aside from the mishap, everything else at El Taj was perfection. Very highly recommended!
Pros: Centrally located. Less than a 5 minute walk from Avenida 5 (downtown). Easy beach access. Beautiful hotel. Beautiful luxury Rooms/Bathrooms. Fully Furnished Condos. Filtered Water provided. EXCELLENT Customer Service. Friendly Dining Staff. Buffet Breakfast included in room rate. Hotel plans fun activities most nights.
Cons: One Bedroom Condos barely have a partial ocean view – talk to the hotel directly before booking. 2 or 3 Bedroom Condos are the best options. We were given a room without a partial ocean view although we paid for a partial ocean view this was fixed after a day. Small swimming pools. Hotel can be noisy since they do offer live music a couple nights a week, this didn’t bother me though.

I absolutely love the outdoor patio area on this home.I think when you live in a beautiful place like that or Coeur d’Alene where I’m from it’s really important your real estate has opportunities for youto enjoy the outdoors! Great listing!pool home
Thanks Farjana.. it was a beautiful stay, definitely a must do when in Playa del Carmen. Coeur d'Alene sounds so exotic, had no clue it's in Idaho. Wow, sounds so French.
Good place and nice interior photos!
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Matt.
@Bianca – Yeah, it is a gorgeous resort, I loved it and would definitely return to the same resort.
@devorele – thanks!
@Dixya – you are right, it has a very Zen feel. I totally missed that in my review. Gorgeous hotel.. yes, loved the adult bevs too, but we had enough outside. 🙂

This is making me want to go to Mexico even more! Looks beautiful.
I loved the entrance of this place – very Zen 🙂 and although you guys had to change room, the view was spectacular. Loved the collection of adult beverage on that table.
