VERDICT: 4.5 / 5
The way this condo hotel is designed, all the one bedrooms are on the ground floor and supposedly they offer a partial ocean view, however to my dismay, I didn’t quite think this to be the case. Once we arrived we were given a one bedroom partial ocean view which is what we paid for, however there was no view of the ocean. Within 5 minutes my husband and I went to the front desk and requested a room with a “partial ocean view.” Since they were fully booked they weren’t able to accommodate us at the moment, however the next day they did upgrade us to a 2 bedroom room with a partial ocean view and a Jacuzzi. Although I was grateful, it was an inconvenience to change rooms. Aside from the mishap, everything else at El Taj was perfection. Very highly recommended!
Pros: Centrally located. Less than a 5 minute walk from Avenida 5 (downtown). Easy beach access. Beautiful hotel. Beautiful luxury Rooms/Bathrooms. Fully Furnished Condos. Filtered Water provided. EXCELLENT Customer Service. Friendly Dining Staff. Buffet Breakfast included in room rate. Hotel plans fun activities most nights.
Cons: One Bedroom Condos barely have a partial ocean view – talk to the hotel directly before booking. 2 or 3 Bedroom Condos are the best options. We were given a room without a partial ocean view although we paid for a partial ocean view this was fixed after a day. Small swimming pools. Hotel can be noisy since they do offer live music a couple nights a week, this didn’t bother me though.
