Located in the trendy Soho neighborhood, The Mercer Kitchen – a Jean-Georges Restaurant, serves up delicious French-American cuisine. The Mercer Kitchen, Soho, NYC

The Mercer Kitchen made my New York City Bucket List and did not disappoint… I would go back in a heartbeat just for that Truffle Pizza with Fontina Cheese… OMG! And let's not forget about the famous Valrhona Warm Chocolate Cake!

The ambience at this underground restaurant is trendy and casual. It’s the perfect date spot.Bar - The Mercer Kitchen, NYC

The Mercer Kitchen is known to use high quality ingredients, such as, organic salmon and grass-fed beef. When in Soho, be sure to check out this trendy neighborhood spot. The Mercer Kitchen, NYC

    Cocktails
Lychee Bellini: Sweet lychee topped with champagne. Light, refreshing, amazing. A favorite!
Rose Mourvedre/Grenache 2016: Not as fruity as I had hoped, but overall good, crispy wine.Lychee Bellini, Rose - The Mercer Kitchen, NYC

    For the Table
Sashimi Salmon with Crispy Sushi Rice: The soft salmon is sits atop of crispy rice and a spicy chipotle sauce. Delicious! Recommended for those who enjoy raw fish.Sashimi Salmon with Crispy Sushi Rice - The Mercer Kitchen, NYC

    Appetizers
Burrata Mozzarella and Heirloom Tomatoes and Basil: Slightly unique from the regular Caprese Salad, this appetizer is prepared in a light tomato sauce and Extra Virgin Olive Oil. The burrata itself was creamy, however this dish overall needed more basil and flavor. Just okay!
Carpaccio of Black Sea Bass with Lime, Coriander, Mint: This dish was tangy with a strong olive oil flavor. The fresh mint leaves were a nice touch and balanced out the flavors. The Carpaccio tasted best with the Rosemary Bread that came with it.

    Pizzas
Black Truffle and Fontina Cheese: Heavenly! One of the best pizzas. A bold truffle flavor and topped with creamy Fontina cheese. A must-do! A favorite!Black Truffle Pizza Fontina Cheese - The Mercer Kitchen, NYC

    Fish
Salmon: Slow baked organic salmon that was slightly salty. The corn pudding on the side was sweet, delicious and with a nice texture. This dish worked beautifully with the cherry tomato basil vinaigrette.Salmon - The Mercer Kitchen, NYC

    Meat
The Mercer Burger: Grass-fed beef along with pepper jack cheese, avocado, crispy red onions, Russian dressing, and French Fries stuffed in a burger. This thing was HUGE! The burger was good, but not as juicy as I would have liked. I enjoyed the slight kick. The burger came with a side of Grilled Vegetables which were delicious! The Mercer Burger - The Mercer Kitchen, NYC

    Tea & Desserts
Warm Valrhona Chocolate Cake: A top seller at most Jean Georges restaurants. This cake was not too sweet, perfectly smooth, buttery and just perfection! Loved the side of ice-cream to help balance out the flavors! A favorite.
Butterscotch Pudding: Another amazing dessert at The Mercer Kitchen! A bold butterscotch flavor, decadent, smooth, slightly salty, and oh so creamy. Incredible! A favorite!Chocolate Cake, Butterscotch Pudding - The Mercer Kitchen, NYC

Sour Cream Cheesecake: The cheesecake was light, slightly tart, and came with a side of sorbet. Just okay for me.
Warm Madeleines: Warm, buttery, perfectly sweet, vanilla Madeleines. If you’re a fan of gourmet cookies with tea, order this, they were yummy!Tea, Sour Cream Cheesecake, Madeleines - The Mercer Kitchen, NYC

RESTAURANT REVIEW: The Mercer Kitchen (Jean-Georges Restaurants)
    COST: $$$
    CUISINE: American/Organic/French American
FAVORITES: Lychee Bellini | Sashimi Salmon with Crispy Sushi Rice | Black Truffle Fontina Cheese Pizza | Warm Valrhona Chocolate Cake | Butterscotch Pudding
    VERDICT: 4 / 5
You can’t go wrong when dining at a Jean-Georges Restaurant! The food at The Mercer Kitchen NYC is very, very good. There were some items that were just okay, but for the most part the food here is excellent. The salmon dish was organic and the Mercer Burger was prepared with grass-fed meat, hence you are paying for the quality of food. You can’t leave here without indulging in the Black Truffle Fontina Cheese Pizza – this was insanely good! And if you have to choose between the Warm Valrhona Chocolate Cake and Butterscotch Pudding, choose both, they are both insanely good! Next time, I would love to try the Sautéed Black Sea Bass, some Mashed Potatoes and Macaroni and Cheese! Now the negative, the service here was painfully slow, so slow that it took about 45 minutes for us to get our check. Is it worth the trek? Yes!
Food: Very Good | Drinks: Excellent | Décor: Trendy/Casual/Elegant | Service: Friendly/Painfully Slow | Value: Fair
