L’Artusi is one of my favorite Italian restaurants in New York City, don’t leave here without indulging in the Spaghetti and Olive Oil Cake.

It was my first time back in New York City after I moved to California, and the one place I was dying to dine at was L’Artusi.

Good Italian food is so hard to find in Southern California, and so my craving for thin-slice pizza and pasta were at an all-time high.
Guests enjoy a cozy evening at LArtusi, an acclaimed NYC gem. The warmly lit space features wooden tables and chairs, where a server attentively caters to diners. In the background, wine racks hint at the restaurants renowned selection.

Located in the West Village, L’Artusi serves up modern Italian food in a trendy setting.
A bustling bar scene at LArtusi, where patrons gather around the counter in NYC. Shelves of bottles shimmer as the bartender serves drinks, creating a lively and casual atmosphere perfect for any night out.

Reservations are hard to get, so I highly recommend calling a month in advance.

Complimentary Items
Bread & Extra Virgin Olive Oil: the bread was just okay for me, nothing special.
Ginger Carrot Gazpacho: creamy, delicious, cold, and thick with a subtle ginger flavor. A favorite.
Slices of bread with a dish of olive oil on the left; a bowl of yellow soup garnished with herbs and spices on the right. This delightful presentation feels straight out of an LArtusi Restaurant experience, embodying NYCs culinary charm.

Verdura/Vegetable
Butter Lettuce Salad: layers of butter lettuce with a creamy Gorgonzola dressing in between each layer. The Gorgonzola cheese wasn’t too empowering which was nice. A generous portion and favorite.
Roasted Mushrooms: sauteed mushrooms topped with cheese and a little basil, and then topped with an egg. So delicious. A favorite.
At LArtusi, a delightful Caesar salad with grated cheese sits on the left, while a plate featuring a fried egg, cheese, and grilled vegetables tempts your taste buds on the right. A must-try in NYC dining.

Pasta
Spaghetti: One of the best dishes I’ve ever had and the most popular item at L’Artusi. Spaghetti tossed in butter, garlic, green chilies, Parmesan, and breadcrumbs. Slightly rich, extremely delectable. A favorite.

Broccoli Rabe Ravioli: Creamy, salty, melt in your mouth delicious. This dish isn’t on the menu, but it should be. Ask  your server about this dish. So amazing. A favorite.
A white plate with ravioli in a creamy sauce, topped with grated cheese, reminiscent of the exquisite flavors admired in a LArtusi restaurant review from NYC.

Orecchiette: Orecchiette shaped pasta tossed in olive oil with ground pork. This pasta dish was very good, but a little on the salty side.
Tagliatelle: Pasta in a white bolognese sauce. This dish had rave reviews on Yelp, and although it was good, I wasn’t wowed by it. It needed a little something extra, but I’m not sure what.
At LArtusi in NYC, two pasta bowls delight: the left boasts orecchiette with savory ground meat and fresh veggies, crowned with shaved cheese; the right offers a similar dish with a unique pasta shape, equally cheese-topped and delectable.

Pesce/Fish
Branzino Filet: the branzino was flavored with lemon and sat over a bed of olives. A light dish, however the branzino could have been flavored a little better.
Grilled fish fillet elegantly plated, resting atop a medley of mixed olives and herbsโ€”a culinary delight that captures the essence of LArtusis acclaimed fare.

Dolci/Dessert
Olive Oil Cake: Moist and delicious olive oil sponge cake. On the side was a tart flavored whipped cream which tasted a bit like yogurt. Incredible A favorite.
Tea being poured into a white mug on the left. A slice of cake dusted with powdered sugar, raisins, and a scoop of ice cream on the rightโ€”a delightful scene reminiscent of dessert presentations in LArtusi Restaurant Review NYC.

There are a plethora of incredible Italian restaurants in New York City, but L’Artusi is one of those that hardly ever goes wrong with the food. Should you decide to dine at L’Artusi, make sure you order the Spaghetti and their famous Olive Oil Cake, it would be shameful to leave here without trying both items.
