When I vacation, I limit what I eat during the day because I tend to indulge during dinner with alcohol and desserts. During my one week stay in St. Thomas, I dined out for lunch three times, the other days I was quite content with coffee, Chobani Flip yogurt and granola bars. This strategy helped me keep my weight in check since I seriously overate during dinner. Here to share with you are some casual spots in St. Thomas. Enjoy!Casual & Reasonable Easts St. Thomas USVI

1. Cup-N-Kettle Tea House
A hidden gem in St. Thomas and one of the best and most relaxing places for tea. Make reservations and try to get seated in the Gazebo outside with is overlooking the water. A must-do!

Tea
Ginger Peach Tea (top right): Light and delicious, full of flavor.
Bourbon Street Vanilla with Almond Flakes (bottom right): A delicious tea from South Africa that had a natural sweetness from the vanilla with a hint of almond. A favorite!
Iced Lemongrass Tea (top left): This drink was soooooo incredibly refreshing, we ended up ordering 2. A favorite!Tea - Cup N Kettle Tea House - St. Thomas USVI

Breakfast & Homemade Pastries
Egg & Cheddar on Croissant (bottom left): Good sandwich, but nothing out of the ordinary. Simple and good.
Scones with Lemon Curd (top): Delicious, light scone, perfect for afternoon tea, went well with the lemon curd which was so light and slightly tangy. A favorite!
Coconut Tart Turnover (bottom right): Also delicious and very light. Scones, Croissant - Cup N Kettle Tea House - St. Thomas USVI

RESTAURANT REVIEW: Cup-N-Kettle Tea House
COST: $-$$
CUISINE: Tea Rooms/Breakfast/Brunch
FAVORITES: Bourbon Street Vanilla | Iced Lemongrass Tea | Scones with Lemon Curd
VERDICT: 4.75 / 5
Cup-N-Kettle is a hidden gem in St. Thomas. This is the perfect place to enjoy afternoon tea sitting out on the gazebo and enjoying the cool breeze. This adorable tea house is run by Evelyn, a super sweet lady, who takes so much pride in her assortment of 500 tea sets she has collected while traveling the world. Her passion is inspiring. Being a tea fanatic myself, I appreciated the various blends of tea, normally I just stick to English Breakfast. The prices here are quite reasonable given that most places in St. Thomas are rather expensive.

2. Barefoot Buddha
A healthy foodie’s dream come true! Lots of vegan and vegetarian options. Bagels, paninis, salads and more! A must-do!Barefoot Buddha - St Thomas USVI

Beverages
Coffee (left): Perfection and steaming hot!
Almond Joy Latte (right): Pretty good, but on the sweeter side.
Mango Coconut Smoothie (right): Refreshing and delicious with little bits of coconut. Beverages - Barefoot Buddha - St Thomas USVI

Salad, Panini, Sandwich
Juliet Salad (top left): Prepared with greens, gorgonzola cheese, toasted walnuts, red onion, and cranberries tossed in a raspberry vinaigrette. This salad was truly amazing, however I have a very strong aversion towards gorgonzola, and thus I had to eat around it. The dressing was excellent.
Mediterranean Bagel Sandwich (right): I need to replicate this at home! Toasted bagel filled with hummus, sun-dried tomatoes, fresh roma tomato, feta cheese, red onion and fresh spinach. The sun-dried tomatoes took this sandwich to a whole new level. The Mediterranean flavors came together impeccably. A favorite!
Smoked Mozzarella Tomato (bottom left): Delicious panini filled with tomato, sun-dried tomato, mozzarella, fresh basil, fresh spinach and chipotle aioli. The aioli sauce was slightly spicy but nothing I couldn’t handle. Excellent. Panini, Bagels - Barefoot Buddha - St Thomas USVI

RESTAURANT REVIEW: Barefoot Buddha
COST: $$
CUISINE: Cafe/Sandwiches/American
FAVORITES: Coffee | Mediterranean Bagel Sandwich | Smoked Mozzarella Tomato
VERDICT: 4.5 / 5
Barefoot Buddha has a Zen feel and is a fun place to hangout with your laptop. There are plenty of health options to choose from on the menu. This cute cafe is located across the street from the Havensight Shopping center, close to where the cruise ships dock. A must-do!

3. Shoreline Bar & Grille @ Point Pleasant Resort
A casual & decent lunch spot with incredible views of Water Bay. Shoreline Bar & Grille, St. Thomas USVI

Coffee (top right): Solid.
Shoreline Mahi Sandwich (bottom left): Mahi Mahi sandwich served with chipotle aioli and fries. This sandwich was grilled well, however it was too bland.
Curried Roti (bottom right): Roti wrap stuffed with chickpeas, potatoes, onions and peppers. The wrap was good, but unfortunately they ran out of the roti wrap and I had to settle for a white wrap. The side of Caribbean Street Corn was delicious, however it was very spicy. I can handle spice, but I’m thinking the average person probably cannot. Entrees - Shoreline Bar & Grille, St. Thomas, USVI

RESTAURANT REVIEW: Shoreline Bar & Grille
COST: $$
CUISINE: American/Caribbean
FAVORITES: Caribbean Street Corn
VERDICT: 3.25 / 5
Shoreline Bar & Grille was pretty average/good for me. The mahi mahi was the biggest disappointment because it was quite bland, something was missing. My favorite here was the Caribbean Street Corn. Overall, a good spot to have lunch if you don’t mind decent food and amazing views.
