Make Milk Peda Mixture
Heat up ghee in a nonstick wok - I like Ballarini PFOA nonstick.
Add whole milk. Let it heat up for a minute or two.
Add milk powder or mawa powder. This is easily available at the Desi Grocery Store.
Work quick and stir the mawa and milk together so there are no lumps.
2-3 minutes later, the mixture should start coming together.
At this time, add powdered sugar.
Add ground cardamom.
2 minutes later, the mixture will start coming together.
3-4 minutes later - the mixture will turn into halwa.
TEST - Take a small amount of the peda mixture and rub it between your fingers, if it forms into a ball, the mixture is ready.
Form Milk Peda
Transfer the batter into a bowl. Let it cool - this will take about 30 minutes.
Take a small amount of the batter into the palm of your hands.
Form a ball.
Place the peda ball on a plate.
Press the center using your thumb, or you can also use a peda maker if you can find one.
Add pistachio in the center.
