Burrata Bruschetta Indian Style

Burrata Bruschetta Indian Style is a spin on an Italian classic with the addition of Indian spices. This appetizer is spicy, creamy, and delicious.

Ingredients

for bruschetta indian style

  • 1 pound tomatoes chopped & drained
  • 2 cloves garlic finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup red onion finely chopped
  • 1/3 cup fresh basil julienned
  • 1/3 cup fresh cilantro chopped
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 Indian green chilies or 1/2 a serrano pepper use less if you can't handle heat
  • sea salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp garam masala
  • 1/4 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

to assemble (per toast)

  • 1 slice sourdough bread, well toasted until crunchy
  • 2 ounces burrata cheese
  • 2-3 spoonfuls of bruschetta

Instructions

  • Chop tomatoes and drain until the liquid is gone. Add tomatoes, red onions (or white), green chilies, fresh basil, fresh cilantro, and garlic. Add to a mixing bowl. Also add olive oil, lemon juice, red chili powder, cumin powder, salt, and garam masala.
  • Mix well. Refrigerate for at least 20 minutes so the flavors are enhanced.
  • Toast sourdough bread until nice and toasty. You can also use Italian or French loaf and turn this appetizer into crostinis.
  • Dip a clove of garlic in olive oil and rub it all over the sourdough toast.
  • Top with burrata cheese.
  • Now top with a few spoonfuls of the prepared Indian-style bruschetta. Slice into fours. Enjoy!
