The Juiciest Lil’ Brgs: STK Downtown | NYC

STK Downtown NYC opened up their second location in Manhattan's trendy Meatpacking District.STK Downtown - New York City

This upscale restaurant artfully blends a modern steakhouse and chic lounge into one.STK Downtown - New York City

STK Downtown draws a crowd of all ages and on a Thursday night by 7 pm this steakhouse is packed.STK Downtown - New York City

The DJ creates an energetic, lounge vibe throughout the entire space making it a great spot for happy hour, or just grabbing a drink at the bar.STK Downtown - New York City

    Cocktail & a Complimentary Starter
Green Intensity (left): Mixed with Absolute Elyx, fresh lime, jalapeno and basil. Succulent drink that tasted fresh with a slight kick. A favorite.
Pull-apart Bread with Blue Cheese Butter + side of Chive Oil (right): This alone is reason enough to dine at STK, their bread is incredibly delicious, soft and doughy. The blue cheese flavor is subtle which was nice since I’m not a fan of pungent cheeses. The side of olive & chive oil was perfection. A favorite.Cocktail, Complimentary Starter - STK Downtown, New York City

    Starters
Lil’ Brgs (top): Made with Wagyu beef and that STK special sauce, this juicy burger was served on a sesame seed bun and easily the best burger I’ve ever had. Incredibly juicy, tender and the cheese and sauce added depths of flavor to this delectable burger. A favorite.
Big Eye Tuna Tartare (bottom): Tuna over a bed of a soy honey emulsion sauce and Hass avocado. The ginger soy sauce was delicious, and the avocado was fresh and creamy. A must-do if you love tuna.Lil' Brgs, Tuna Tartare - STK Downtown, New York City

    Medium Steak
Dry-Aged Delmonico 14 oz.: Boneless ribeye steak that was buttery, rich, and so tender. Truth be told, I am not a fan of steak, but this steak was the best I’ve had. A must-do for all you steak lovers!Dry-Aged Delmonico Steak - STK Downtown, New York City

    Entrees
Roasted Chilean Seabass (top): The seabass was perfectly cooked, soft and tender, however it could have been seasoned better. On the contrary, the curried green lentils were perfectly seasoned and oh so delicious.
Herb Marinated Amish Chicken (bottom): Rosemary chicken over an apple cider glaze sauce. The rosemary chicken was good and had a nice crust, however the baby farm vegetables on the side were rather bland.Roasted Chillean Seabass, Herb Marinated Amish Chicken - STK Downtown, New York City

    Sides
Mac & Cheese (main): Well-made, not overly creamy and consisted of just the right amount of cheese. The mac & cheese was perfectly seasoned and there was definitely some kind of aged cheddar used in this dish. Incredibly delicious and a favorite.
    Sweet Corn Pudding
(top-right): The sweet corn pudding was rich and creamy. You can definitely taste the butter in this wonderful side dish. The corn pudding had a nice bite to it with the little corn kernels. A favorite.
Parmesan Truffle Fries (bottom-right): Although the fries were crispy, I was able to taste the cooking oil used to prepare these fries, and I didn’t enjoy the flavor of the oil. Additionally, there was no presence of truffle oil in this dish, a huge disappointment since I usually love truffle flavored anything.

    Desserts
Caramelito Bar: Cocoa nib marshmallow with a chocolate bavarian layer and vanilla ice-cream. This dessert is stunning, the edible chocolate lips on top is a really nice touch. Furthermore, the caramelito bar was smooth, creamy and tasty. It had a rather milky, subtle chocolate flavor and wasn’t too overpowering in terms of chocolate. A good dessert!
Ice STK: Ice-cream Sampler. Gorgeous presentation.
Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough (left): Good, light, not too sweet.
    Cake Batter (center): Good.
    Double Chocolate: Definitely chocolate-y.

    RESTAURANT REVIEW: STK Downtown
    COST: $$$$
    CUISINE: Steakhouse/American
FAVORITES: Complimentary Pull-Apart Bread | Green Intensity Cocktail | Lil’ Brgs | Sweet Corn Pudding | Mac & Cheese
    VERDICT: 3.75 / 5
STK Downtown NYC is a trendy and upscale dining experience which draws in a crowd of all ages. On a Thursday night this place was packed by 7 pm. In terms of food, I enjoyed the starters and sides the most, along with the Dry-Aged Delmonico Steak. And let’s not forget about that incredibly delicious complimentary pull-apart bread which is reason alone to dine at STK. To my dismay, the service at STK Downtown was quite average, our server could have been more attentive. Considering this was a Chef’s Tasting, I wish my plus one and I were seated in an area where we had more room to enjoy our experience. It was overwhelming to have all our entrees and sides presented to us at once – I didn’t know where to begin. In the past, I dined at STK Las Vegas which was an outstanding experience. If you aren't in the mood for dinner, STK Downtown is a great spot to grab drinks and hangout, be sure to check out their rooftop. Will be back, especially for that Lil’ Brgs I'm still dreaming about!

Thanks Dixya. I don't even eat steak, but that was good, so rich and buttery. The RD in you wouldn't approve. 🙂 lol.
