Barcelona is an incredibly beautiful city with so much to see and so much to do. Out of the 3 cities (Madrid, Seville, Barcelona) I had the privilege of visiting in Spain, Barcelona was hands down the BEST city in Spain, and also one of the most beautiful cosmopolitan cities in the world. This city has so much to offer from its gorgeous weather to its amazing tapas to its fascinating, yet unusual, Gaudi architecture.
Due to its location on the Mediterranean Sea, Barcelona also offers a wide array of activities to choose from including spending a day at the beach, visiting churches & museums, strolling down La Rambla and stopping by the Boqueria Food Market for a bite. In particular though, I had the most fun shopping and strolling down Passeig de Gracia and enjoying a cafe con leche every now and then. Barcelona is also famous for its vibrant nightlife – this city never sleeps. There is something for everyone in this culturally rich city with beautiful people… definitely not to be missed!

Beautiful Barcelona
Barcelona has been on my list forever! Thanks for sharing these lovely pictures! 🙂
Arghh you've got me craving a trip to Europe now- such great architecture, culture and an amazing vibe overall! Is there anything sexier than listening to the locals communicate in Spanish ;)! I've never been to Barcelona but I have visited Madrid & Majorca- both were memorable trips!
My father lives very close to Barcelona, I really hope to visit him soon so I can see all the beautiful places Spain has to offer~
@Baker Street – no problem. It really is a beautiful city, I had a lot of fun there. Very laid back and friendly people.
@Khushboo – nope, nothing is sexier than hear the locals speak in Spanish, not to mention how good looking some of these Spanish men are. I have to visit Majorca and IBIZA! Someday, hopefully I will still look "young" enough to dance like a maniac. You would love Barca.
@Catalina – are you Spanish? That's so great.. definitely worth the visit.
I am so glad you wrote about Barcelona, which led me to your post about Madrid – I am going to Spain (Madrid, Sevilla, Granada, and a few other cities) in July and this is very helpful!
so pretty! I would love to visit!!
I am just in awe of some of these photos, such great clarity and angle to them. Spain looks like it would be an amazing trip-thanks for sharing this!
I LOVED Barcelona…way more than I thought I would. I agree about the Born area…I didn't get it. I also didn't understand all the hype about the great shopping there because everything was expensive!
Hands down my favorite part of Barcelona was the Ritz. One of the most beautiful and accommodating hotels I've ever stayed at.
Never been to Barcelona, but we were in Zaragoza this past fall and it was GORGEOUS. We spent a relaxing week there and loved it!
@Bianca – wow.. that's awesome. I didn't go to Grenada, but definitely worth a day trip. I'll fix up my other "Spain" posts for you. So glad you were led to Madrid.
@Mollie
@Tina
@Jay
Thank you all!
@Ameena – I did too.. many people told me how amazing Barca was, and I wasn't quite sure what to expect. I was blown away. one of the nicest cities. The shopping reminded me of 5th avenue, so I was window shopping a lot, but they had Mango, Zara, and other more affordable brands that I had fun with. 🙂
Oh my… I could only imagine how NICE the Ritz would be. Lucky you! 🙂
@Allison – I hadn't even heard of Zaragoza.. just looked it up. WOW.. so pretty! I'll have to add it to my todo list the next time I visit Spain, along with Ibiza and Mallorca/Majorca. 🙂
Very beautiful photos! I'm not been to Barcelona before and take lots of references from you if I'm going there one day 😀
very nice photos…. because of ur writeup.. want to visit it atleast once…
Happily following you…
