Product Review: 365 Everyday Value - Organic AlmondMilk Unsweetened

Not sure what is going on here in the Northeast region because we got slammed with more snow today, and we have another 8-15 inches on the way.  Oh boy!  To be honest, I don't mind the snow since I don't have to shovel in my urban neighborhood, but I really do feel for those who have to shovel, especially those with really long driveways!  🙁

I wish there was a paid service people could call to have their driveways shoveled.  Does such a service exist?  Anyone know?  I would love for my parents to have this service.

    It sure looks pretty though.

The snow covered trees look so pretty, everything is so much brighter.  I love it!

So last week I headed to Whole Foods and picked up Almond Milk (unsweetened), I figured I'd try it, plus it was organic.  I was open to trying Almond Milk since it is low calorie, cholesterol-free, and there is no saturated fat. Awesome!  Unfortunately though, it is low in protein.

    NUTRITION

INGREDIENTS - a couple people mentioned dl-alpha tocopherol acetate is a FAKE Vitamin E.  Anyone know?

    VERDICT - 4.5 / 5
Personally, I really enjoyed Whole Foods Almond Milk.  It tasted slightly nutty and almondy, obviously.  Although I enjoyed the taste, I'm not a milk drinker and I wouldn't be able to drink Almond Milk on its own, in other words, I would need to use it in a smoothie, or in a cup of tea, or in oatmeal.

I tried Almond Milk in my tea and it was yummy!  It didn't give my tea that creamy & milky effect a dairy milk product would, but it certainly gave my tea a nutty flavor that I loved.

Additionally, I tried Almond Milk in my oatmeal and it was delicious.  It looked and tasted creamy, however I wasn't able to detect that nutty flavor I was looking for.  This was probably because I added a bunch of flavors to my oatmeal, such as, cinnamon, agave, banana, and peanut butter.
TIP: You can enhance the almond flavor in your oatmeal by using ¼ teaspoon of Almond Extract.

The downside of this product is there isn't enough protein so I'll be going back and forth between my usual dairy milk and Almond Milk.

Overall, I felt the texture of the Almond Milk was slightly more creamy than 1% Low Fat Milk and slightly less creamy than 2% Reduced Fat Milk.  I love that it was between.  Another great thing about this product is it's unsweetened, this way I can control the amount of sugar that goes into my meals.  I'll definitely be purchasing Whole Foods Organic AlmondMilk (Unsweetened), again!

Tell Me: If you tried this product, what are your thoughts on it?

I just saw this on foodgawker! Great photo! You guys are getting hit with the snow! I live in central Indiana and we get lots of snow, but nothing like you! I have never had almond milk before, I think I will have to give it a try! 🙂
