    Luscious Strawberry Smoothie (Non-Dairy)

    strawberry smoothie

I worked from home today, my husband came home and went to bed at 8 pm... You can imagine how incredibly bored I must be today.  I watched The Bachelorette from last night, took a nap from 8:15 pm to 9:30 pm, woke up, made myself a nice hot cup of tea and decided to blog. Thank GOD I have an outlet and my baby bloggy to keep me entertained.  My blog means the world to me and keeps me so happy... it's so important for women especially without kids to have hobbies.  I just can't sit still... I am a Gemini, remember, always restless?  I'd go absolutely insane doing nothing!  I'm so going to work tomorrow!

And now, the non-dairy strawberry smoothie!  Doesn't this smoothie look spectacular?  OMG!  It almost looks like a cocktail and felt as though I was drinking strawberry syrup.  All I need is a crystal blue water background and me sipping this drink on a beach, somewhere!  Speaking of beach, I have wanted to go on vacation so bad.  I just feel I haven't gone anywhere, and going to India hardly counts as a vacation for me.  I really want to check out Playa Del Carmen, Mexico.  Is Mexico safe these days?  Let's see how it all turns out.  If all else fails, I'll have to check out one of the Caribbean islands.  Any suggestions for a group vacation?  πŸ™‚

NUTRITION: Strawberries are an excellent source of Vitamin C. They are also a great source of Antioxidants and Fiber. They are a good source of Folic Acid, Omega 3 Fatty Acids, Vitamin B6, and Vitamin K.

    INGREDIENTS:

    • Fresh Strawberries - 9 or 10
    • Water - ΒΌ cup
    • Ice Cubes - 2
    • Agave - 1 tbsp  (if you don't have Agave, you can use Honey/Sugar)

    DIRECTIONS:
    1. Add the fresh strawberries to a Magic Bullet / Blender.

    2. Blend... you probably won't get too far with the Magic Bullet.

    3. Add ΒΌ cup water.

    4. Blend again.

    5. Add ice.

    6. Add agave.

    7. Blend again.

    8. Pour and serve!

Nothing is better than a strawberry smoothie on a summer day!! Looks awesome! And I might have to do this to use up some of the strawberries I have sitting in my fridge!

I made your strawberry smoothie recipe
with the Magic Bullet (just purchased due to your recommendation!) and it was so delicious and easy to make!Obviously, it is not as sweet as smoothies I've bought from outside but I'm sure that's b/c they add tons of sugar/smoothie mix. Your smoothie was delicious and it was a refreshing treat to have on a hot and humid day! thanks for the recipe!!!

If you use frozen strawberries do you still need to add the ice? Thank you for the recipe. 44 yrs old and now I am lactose πŸ™ Going to do a total raw diet to cleanse and your recipe will definitely hit the spot πŸ™‚

No, you do not need ice if the fruits are frozen. If you have a Vitamix blender, you probably don't need as much water. You can throw in some Almond Milk or Coconut Milk since you are lactose intolerant. Hope this helps.
