No cooking today! It was Subway and Movie night! Today I watched, “Julie & Julia”, what a great movie? It was very inspiring. While watching the movie I couldn’t believe the way Julie was thinking about her blog, because I have the same reactions.
I was soooooo happy the first day I got a comment from a stranger.
Did anyone, whom I don’t know, post a comment today?
I wonder how many people are reading my blog?
Are they inspired to try my recipes?
I hope my recipes work out for my readers.
Blogging gives me so much satisfaction, and just something to do, in addition to working, cooking, spending time with my husband, family and friends. If I didn’t blog, I’d probably waste 2-3 hours a day watching TV. I love cooking and baking, it makes me feel as though I have a purpose, I can be creative, I can try something new, it is a sense of accomplishment, and it is something I am pretty good at.
I also think the movie was right in portraying that Blogging can take up a lot of your time, if you already have a full-time job and are married. It is possible to ignore your spouse, every now and then… but I think I blog in moderation, we pick on each other less, and my husband gets to try new things 🙂 A win for all!
Okay, so here’s the part of the movie that I did not get, why did Julia, hate Julie? Sorry, if I just gave it away for those of you who haven’t seen this movie. But for those of you who have seen this movie, why?
Did Julia think Julie was using her to make a name for herself? Julia was very conventional in her thinking, so maybe she wanted others to do things, the conventional way?
If you have any ideas, I would appreciate your comments on this. I just did not get it!
Overall, it was such an inspiring movie! My sister told me I’d love it. The movie makes me want to cook more and more, but I don’t think I can follow a recipe exactly, each day, for a year, and comment about it… eventually I’d need to make it my own in some way. Cooking is an art, baking is a science!
