1. Vegetable Fried Rice @ Noodle Gourmet (Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ)
Located on Easton Ave. in the heart of Rutgers University comes the best Chinese food shack – Noodle Gourmet. This place is seriously packed every time I dine here or get takeout. And my most favorite dish that never fails me is the Vegetable Fried Rice made with Broccoli, Carrots, Onions, Peas, Mushrooms, Baby Corn, Snow peas, Bean Sprouts, and Egg. I have to try replicating this dish at home. No one makes it better than Noodle Gourmet, NO ONE! ~ $5.75 (large) / $3.45 (small) @ Noodle Gourmet
2. Blendin’ @ Thomas Sweet (Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ)
After Chinese food I headed to Thomas Sweet for some ice cream, or a Blendin’. A “blendin’” is essentially ice cream blended with your choice of toppings. It is then processed in a machine which results in soft well-blended ice cream. Thomas Sweet is the only ice cream place that I’ll sacrifice my calories for – I love it! ~ $5.00 @ Thomas Sweet
This was a home creation and so indulgent. The best part about these Blueberry Brownies is that they are made with 1/2 a stick of butter (or 4 tbsp) and they have ingredients that are actually good for you. At the end of the day it is still a sweet treat and should be eaten in moderation, however in my book if a treat can taste good, contain less fat, and still taste amazing is a winner!
