Friday’s Favorite Things | 6.1.12

1. Lindt’s A Touch of Sea Salt Bar
Incase you didn’t know, I’m on a dessert-free diet this week and next since I’ll be heading to the Caribbean in just a week.  Anyone who knows me knows that this is no easy peasy task.  When a beach vacation calls, I’m all about shedding those extra pounds around my tummy.  Now let’s talk chocolate!  Since I don’t really think of DARK chocolate as dessert, but rather a super healthy treat with antioxidants, I’m treating myself to 1 square of Lindt Sea Salt daily.  My enlightenment about this particular chocolate bar grew when I first read about it on my blogger friend’s (Khushboo) website, a London native living in Mumbai.  Khushboo has proclaimed her love for Lindt’s Sea Salt bar enough times (here) that she had me intrigued.  What treat could be this tasty and good for you?  Certainly NOT a cupcake!  ~ $3.50 a bar @ most gourmet grocery stores or ~ $4 @ Lindt

2. Larabar UBER
The folks at Larabar have been so incredibly sweet to me by sending me samples of their new Larabar flavors, but unfortunately I didn’t quite enjoy the “original” Larabars due to their texture and aftertaste.  Recently though, Larabar sent me their new UBER Larabar, and I can honestly say I really enjoyed them.  The Uber consists of a sweet and salty combination, loaded with nuts which contribute to their high amounts of monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats… great for breakfast.  My favorites were the Banana Foster and Apple Turnover.  Each Larabar contains no more than 9 ingredients, they are all natural, and mighty delicious.  ~ gift from

3. French Sleeve T-Shirt @ Zara (purchased in royal blue)
I have become Zara crazy these past few months.  I spotted this adorable t-shirt which appears more like a dress on my 5’2” frame – loved the color and the golden zip in the back.  There are many ways of wearing this dress:
a. black tights, boots/maryjanes
b. black ankle leggings, black ballet flats
c. no tights, just nude heels for a classy look, or just flip flops for a more casual look
And it comes in at a very affordable ~ $20 @

DISLIKE OF THE WEEK
none that I can think of, I’m trying to be more grateful.

SO much to comment on this post!

Dark chocolate is definitely essential for our health- it just oozes antioxidants :)! Thanks so much for the shout out- definitely made my day seeing you mention me! So glad you love the Lindt Sea Salt bar- it’s my absolute favorite bar! I always stock up when I come back to Mumbai. I’m a fan of Larabars so I’m sure I would love the UBER bars! I actually have that Zara top in emerald green- love throwing it over a pair of leggings!

This week I am loving harem pants- those and leggings are just about the only kinds of pants I can fathom wearing in this heat, otherwise I’m all about summer dresses! As for jeans, don’t even go there!

As I type this, I am eating a Lindt 85% chocolate bar. It is divine. I love this particular version because it's not too sugary and it has no soy lecithin.

The Carribbean! You lucky lady. Where are you going?

This is a great time to hit the beach, I am sure you are excited about the upcoming travels-I know I would be!
Now to recap your favs:Hard to resist a good quality chocolate bar and Lindt is some pretty good stuff. Those Larabars I am not even sure they are distributed in this state, I have never even seen them! I like the shirt and I would say it is much more than just a tee shirt, nice line.
    Enjoy the weekend.

@Nisha – lol.. I mean, I always have 5 pounds I could lose at any given time.. and I know I can drop it if I gave up desserts or at least ate them just once a week. I guess I'm willing to live with those 5 pounds and enjoy life. 🙂

"Just when you think you know love, someone little "Just when you think you know love, someone little comes along to remind you just how big it really is." - Unknown How can I love someone this tiny so much? He tests my patience every day, but also brings me so much joy! For all you moms who said, “I have no time”, I finally get it. Now, I can’t even spare 5 minutes to shower. Yes, Nisha - Welcome to the Club! I can’t tell you how many people sent me this EXACT message 😂. Before I became a mom, the idea of changing diapers and spit-up grossed me out. Now, no biggie. I can’t even count on one hand how many times I’ve put my baby to sleep and I get so excited to have some “me time”. To my disappointment, he wakes up 1/2 hour later and I have to start the process all over again… is he burped, is he wet, is he hungry? The days are long! Despite the hardships of motherhood, one of the greatest joys has been watching and holding my baby while he sleeps, and knowing I provide comfort to him like no other. I’m sure he will get used to it and I’ll probably regret it later on, but for now, I am just soaking up these precious moments while he’s still little and innocent. ☺️ #motherhood #krishandnish #babyhoneywhatscooking #loveofmylife #mamasboy #3weekspostpartum
