Tea time is just about my most favorite moment of the day, and in a country where everyone loves “chai,” the experience was priceless. In the midst of the chaos in New Delhi lies one of the BEST bakeries I have ever been to – Elma’s Bakery in Hauz Khas Village. If it wasn’t for my niece (cousin’s daughter), Umang, I would never have known about this wonderful bakery. This quaint little bakery reminds me of a cute café one would encounter in the West Village of New York City. They have a wide selection of tea and desserts, Red Velvet Cake, Coffee Cake to name a few, along with some delicious starters. A special thanks to my niece, Umang, who hung out with my husband and I at one of the BEST bakeries. I simply adored the tea set below. ~ a priceless experience @ Elma’s Bakery, Hauz Khas Village, New Delhi
Hot Molten Lava Cake is my husband’s absolute favorite dessert, and easily one of mine as well. So believe me when I say the Lava Lava Cake at Mocha’s is simply to die for. It is sinfully delicious and ooey gooey. Combine that with a coffee ice-cream and you’ve got a match made in heaven. Sooooooooo freakin’ good! In addition, I loved the ambience at this modern, yet homey café. If you are ever visiting India, make sure you check out Mocha which has a few locations in all major cities. ~ 150 Rs. (~ $3), Mocha @ Greater Kailash 1, New Delhi
Although Café Coffee Day (CCD) is one of the biggest chains in India, (think Starbucks), I still look forward to their cappuccino each time I visit. The flavors are mild and frothy with absolutely no bitterness. I compare the cappuccino at CCD to countless cups of cappuccino I’ve enjoyed in Europe, it really is that good. You can’t miss CCD if you are ever visiting India. ~ 84 Rs. (~ $1.70) @ Café Coffee Day, Khan Market, New Delhi
