This week are all things California!
1. Deep Thoughts
My favorite moment from this past trip was spending “quality” time with my sister, Mini. Often times when she visits us in New Jersey, I feel I just get bits and pieces of her since I have to share her with my parents, my other 2 siblings, my sister-in-law, and my nieces. This time, however, when I visited her in California, I felt I was able to spend more quality time with her and had her all to myself. Sine my sister moved away some 12 years ago, I appreciate her much more now than I did when she lived with me and drove me nuts. 🙂 ~ priceless

2. Reminiscing Food & Dessert
Another major highlight of my trip was the food. Although I didn’t eat at any real sit-down places this time, the spots I did pick up food/dessert from were pretty amazing.
My top 3 favorites were:
a. Red Velvet Bundt Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting @ Nothing Bundt Cakes
perfectly moist red velvet cake with bits of chocolate chip and not too sweet was the perfect treat. ~ $3.99 per Bundt cake

b. Spinach & Mushroom Croissant @ Le Boulanger
full of flavorful and loads of butter, you can’t really go wrong with a combination of butter, spinach, and mushrooms. ~ $4
c. Cheeseburger @ In-N-Out Burger

although I gave up red meat years and years ago, the only exception I will make is for the famous In-N-Out Burger. ~ $6.50 for a meal

3. Santana Row in San Jose, California
Lastly, the most fun family outing was at Santana Row with my husband, sister, brother-in-law, niece, and nephew. I had never heard of Santana Row before, so I was pleasantly surprised by the strip of restaurants, cafes, and famous stores. The lights and decorations were so festive which put all of us in the mood for the holidays. ~ priceless
