Friday’s Favorite Things – 1.18.13

Hola People!  Like many of you, I will be enjoying a 3 day weekend.  Mostly, I am looking forward to chilling, sleeping, cooking, dining out, and watching movies.  And speaking of movies, how are This is 40, Life of Pi, Django?  Recommendations welcome please!  Onto FFT…

1. Smooth Operator Peanut Butter by Peanut Butter @ Co.
I LOVE The Bees Knees peanut butter by PB & Co., hence I decided to give their most basic peanut butter a chance.  The Smoooooooth Operator, haha, is creamy, all-natural peanut butter without any high fructose corn syrup or hydrogenated oils.  This no-stir peanut butter is amazing stuff that I could eat straight out of the jar and never stop.  ~ $5 @ most grocery stores

2. Pumpkin Pie Large Jar Candle @ Yankee Candle
Pumpkin Pie is my most favorite scent at Yankee Candle… it’s just nice coming home to the smell of pumpkin, it makes the home smell so warm and inviting.  Every evening I light my pumpkin pie candle just for a couple hours to enjoy the scent.  I picked up a few candles 50% off at Yankee Candle… they have some crazy sales going on right now!  ~ $28 (sale) $14 @ Yankee Candle

3. Airborne Chewable Tablets (citrus flavor)
With the flu epidemic spread all over the United States, it is important I share some insight on the Airborne Chewable Tablets.  A few months ago when I was feeling under the weather, my friend, Jhiane (Registered Nurse), bought me some Airborne Chewable Tablets and insisted my symptoms would subside.  Her real incentive was to get me out of the house so I could go shopping with her in New York City.  I complied to both chewing the tablets and walking around cold in NYC.  After chewing 2 tablets, my symptoms subsided, I kid you NOT!
Here’s more… since December I’ve felt under the weather twice, and both times I took the Airborne Chewable Tablets immediately and I felt fine a couple hours later.  I believe the burst of Vitamin C helps the immune system fight off the virus, not to mention they taste great and contain Antioxidants.  Now in terms of ingredients, artificial flavors is one of the listed ingredients, but hey, I’d take artificial flavors ANYDAY over getting sick and heavy dose meds.  Definitely buy this stuff and take it AS SOON AS YOU FEEL THE SYMPTOMS… I guarantee it will help you!!!  Now let’s just hope and pray none of us get sick.  ~ $9 @ most drugstores

I loved Life of Pi- highly recommend it. With most movies, books definitely better but still i enjoyed it a lot. Sadly, I dont have 3 day weekend but I am meeting up with old friends from highschool so really looking forward to that! I am a big peanut butter addict, will have to give smooth operator a try, esp if its no stir-yum yum!

Weekend plans = wishing I was NOT in LA, cleaning up after Ali, and working on Maya's book report. It's sure to be a whirlwind of fun! 🙂

So glad Airborne worked for you. Ali swears by Emergen-C!

I need to buy Airborne for when the flu next decides to hit! Enjoy your 3-day weekend! Did you see Argo? If not I can't recommend it enough- it was definitely one of my favorites from 2012!

It's a regular one around here this week but looks like it's gong to be a good one- I have a friend's bachelorette tonight, a race tomorrow morning followed by brunch & manicure/pedicure with a friend!

"Just when you think you know love, someone little "Just when you think you know love, someone little comes along to remind you just how big it really is." - Unknown How can I love someone this tiny so much? He tests my patience every day, but also brings me so much joy! For all you moms who said, “I have no time”, I finally get it. Now, I can’t even spare 5 minutes to shower. Yes, Nisha - Welcome to the Club! I can’t tell you how many people sent me this EXACT message 😂. Before I became a mom, the idea of changing diapers and spit-up grossed me out. Now, no biggie. I can’t even count on one hand how many times I’ve put my baby to sleep and I get so excited to have some “me time”. To my disappointment, he wakes up 1/2 hour later and I have to start the process all over again… is he burped, is he wet, is he hungry? The days are long! Despite the hardships of motherhood, one of the greatest joys has been watching and holding my baby while he sleeps, and knowing I provide comfort to him like no other. I’m sure he will get used to it and I’ll probably regret it later on, but for now, I am just soaking up these precious moments while he’s still little and innocent. ☺️ #motherhood #krishandnish #babyhoneywhatscooking #loveofmylife #mamasboy #3weekspostpartum
