Friday’s Favorite Things – 1.13.12

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY “favorite” COUSIN, AJAY!
although he’s my cousin, he really is more like a brother, and my friend!  Enjoy your day!

1. Ann Taylor Loft – Petite Stripe Button Down Back Sweater (purchased in Fiery Orange)

We had a couple really gorgeous fall days in NYC this past week, in January.  I decided to walk 30 blocks to burn some calories, and so I really didn’t mean to stop over at Ann Taylor Loft, it just sorta happened.  And it also seemed as though those Christmas sales were still going on.  I decided to purchase this cute orange & white striped sweater which actually has buttons going down the back.  It’s so unique.  Here is the best part – when my bill rang up, this sweater was an additional 50% off the already reduced price, don’t you just love it when that happens?  ~ $50 (sale) $30 (after 50% off) $15 @ Ann Taylor Loft

2. H&M – Cardigan (purchased in black)

My husband and I were scheduled to watch The Descendants (highly recommended) at 8 pm, and so we had about 2 hours to burn before the movie.  I dragged him to all my stores down 5th Avenue and found this all season cardigan at H&M.  When it comes to purchasing a black cardigan, you seriously don’t need to use much logic because everyone should own a few good black cardigans, am I right?  Thanks VS!  ~ $25 @ H&M

3. French Loop Stackable Server

Last summer my friend, Jhiane, gave me this Stackable Server as a birthday gift.  I thought it was such a thoughtful gift since she knows how much I love to bake and showcase my work of art (yeah right).  I finally got around to assembling it and it sits high on my kitchen counter.  For now I’m using the server as a fruit basket, and when I have guests over I will use it as a dessert platter.  And incase you’re wondering, yeah, bananas are my favorite fruit.  Thanks so much Jhiane, I LOVE IT!  ~ birthday gift

The server is a great gift, I have clicked over to that link and there is a lot of great stuff on the site.
Since I am in Texas, sweaters are not worn all that much, but I do love them-the cardigan looks like a good basic essential to have.
Hope you are enjoying the weekend and thanks for your recent comments on my blog!

You can never have too many black cardigans! And that one is a bit unique, so it's in a league of it's own!!

I haven't had a chance to shop recently (thanks to crazy work hours!) but I have had a moment to catch up on reading and I am LOVING "Something Blue."

Thank you all! The server is a really sweet and thoughtful gift, I agree. @Ameena – I need to get into reading, I just read magazines and personal growth type books. 🙂

PANEER TIKKA QUESADILLAS are mouthwatering! Here's PANEER TIKKA QUESADILLAS are mouthwatering! Here's an Indo-Fusion dish you will love! I made a delicious marinade for the paneer and sauteed it along with the veggies. Assemble your whole wheat quesadillas and cook until the cheese has melted. The best part about this dish is my "special taco sauce" which complements these quesadillas perfectly.

Happy Mother’s Day to all you moms who show up s Happy Mother’s Day to all you moms who show up selflessly every single day. Also, a happy mothers day to all of you who want to be moms. ❤️ This is the most challenging role of my life, but the journey is totally worth it. Krish has made me a stronger and happier person. He gives new meaning to my life. And lastly, my kid couldn’t give me one nice picture of us in Hawaii… there’s either someone in the back or he’s making a face or he just wants to get away. He just can’t sit still for a minute… and with that a Happy Mother’s Day to me! 🥰

Vacationing with a kid has been a completely diffe Vacationing with a kid has been a completely different experience. While it’s nice to spend time as a family, dinners can get tough with a baby. Sanjiv and I enjoyed a romantic evening at House Without A Key in peace because Krish “thankfully” fell asleep (he was behind us I promise… swipe). It was so nice to converse with my better half over live music + cocktails, delicious food, and the BEST coconut cake (last pic). A memorable meal and evening! ❤️ #mylove

Aloha 🤙! Our first family trip! We made it to H Aloha 🤙! Our first family trip! We made it to Hawaii safe and sound, and Krish was pretty good on the plane. It’s my first time in Hawaii and I’m loving Waikiki… the beach, food, window shopping, and city life. I love being able to walk everywhere. It’s the perfect amount of action and relaxation for me. This is totally my kinda vacation 😎! Krish has been loving all the people-watching… something he doesn’t do much of back home. He’s been flexible and has pretty much adjusted to our schedule. Thank you 🙏🏼 guys for all the food recommendations (Duke’s Hula Pie) and tips on traveling with a toddler. I can’t thank you all enough. ❤️ #myworld
