    Blue-Cran-Berry Smoothie (Non-Dairy)

Today I had a wonderful day!  I headed to New York City to visit my cousin's wife (who is more like a sister and friend to me), Nandini, and her sweet, angelic, pretty, baby girl.  Knock on wood!  I worked from home earlier in the day and made some time to whip up two items for Nandini, this way she wouldn't have to worry about dinner... yeah, I can be sweet like that.  🙂  I decided to make Aloo Poha and Aloo Tamatar Gravy, let's just say, I had a pretty hectic morning.

I made a little something for myself too. For breakfast today I had a blueberry cranberry smoothie.  I felt so good consuming all antioxidants in this drink.  So after all the cooking, working, a stroll, a train, and a cab ride away, I arrived at my destination.  I can't do this good deed for everyone, but I certainly "will" do it for the ones dear to me, just not everyday... hehe!  I get tired!  We ended our night putting the baby to sleep followed by dinner and wine on the balcony.  Sounds romantic, right?  It was so fun!

NUTRITION: Blueberries are a very good source of Vitamin C and Fiber.  They are a good source of Vitamin E. In addition, blueberries are an ANTIOXIDANT POWERHOUSE.  Cranberries are an excellent source of Vitamin C.

    INGREDIENTS:

    • Ice - 2 cubes
    • Cranberry Juice - ¼ cup
    • Agave - 1 tbsp  (if you don't have Agave, use Honey/Sugar)
    • Blueberries - ¾ cup

    DIRECTIONS:
    1. Here is what you'll need.

    2. Add ice to the Magic Bullet / Blender.

    3. Add cranberry juice.
NOTE: I used Wegmans Cranberry Juice, there is no high fructose corn syrup or any other artificial sweeteners.

    4. Add agave.

    5. Add blueberries.

    6. Blend.

    7. Pour and serve.

I'm glad this is a nondairy smoothie. I'm trying to consume more nondairy items so this is quite refreshing .

You are welcome! You'd figure there are a good number of people who are lactose intolerant. Glad you enjoyed it!
