One evening I crashed at my sister’s place and she made me a tangy fruit salad with a certain spice that took the fruits to a whole new level. When I inquired about this particular spice she wouldn’t tell me what she used and pretended as though she made the spice from scratch. Yeah right! After ten minutes of whining and begging her for the recipe, she finally revealed the truth, it was the Trader Joe’s Chili-Lime Seasoning Blend that she used, but of course!
1. Trader Joe’s Chili Lime Seasoning Blend
This is my best and latest find. It’s limey, tangy and has a very slight kick. I love topping this seasoning over fruits, avocado, eggs, or pretty much anything that needs flavor. The only downside is the high sodium content, but I’m willing to overlook it for a spice that tastes this good and only $2. Love.
2. Trader Joe’s Vegetable Root Chips
I love Terra Chips, they are so addictive and one of my favorite junk foods. When I spotted the Vegetable Root Chips at TJ’s which are a knockoff of Terra Chips, I had to try them. They taste exactly like the real thing, but the only negative is they contain a few more ingredients than the Terra Chips. The Trader Joe’s version is delicious and my go to chips when I don’t find Terra Chips on sale, but I usually do at either Whole Foods or Target. Love.
3. Trader Joe’s Organic Stone Ground Blue Corn Tortilla Chips with Sprouted Amarnath, Quinoa and Chia Seeds
You can imagine my happiness when I saw these chips at TJ’s, not only are they gluten-free, they are organic too! You know how I love organic food, even if it’s organic junk food, and more so when it’s reasonable at just $3 a bag. The nutrition on these aren’t terrible either – 3 grams of fiber and 2 grams of protein per serving. Finally, chips that aren’t so bad for you. Keep in mind these chips do taste healthier so don’t expect traditional yellow corn tortilla chips. Love.
4. Trader Joe’s Hand Soap Lavender & Chamomile
When I ran out of my Bath & Body Works soaps, I picked up this Lavender & Chamomile hand soap from Trader Joe’s. The scent is amazing, feminine, just like lavender, and it’s affordable too. I’ll be purchasing this hand soap more often now. Love.
5. Trader Joe’s Dark Chocolate Cacao Nibs 66% Dark Chocolate
Although these cacao nibs taste good, I wasn’t too happy with the ingredients, some of which I can’t even pronounce. Additionally, these nibs are high in saturated fat. I bought these because I never tried cacao chips and they were cheap. I also know there are better brands out there which probably make cacao nibs with just one or two ingredients. OK, contains weird ingredients.
