Starting up my Friday’s Favorites once again. As you are already aware that I visit Trader Joe’s once a week. It’s my happy place! Each time I visit TJ’s, I’m so tempted to try out new products, but I have to hold myself back for 2 reasons – the health factor and the waste factor. I hate throwing food away so I allow myself one new product every week or two. To share with you are some products I recently tried.
1. Trader Joe’s Creamy Salted Cashew Butter
It’s creamy, slightly salty, cashew nutty, and scrumptious! One serving (2 tablespoons) will get you 4 grams of protein, sure it’s less protein than peanut butter, but it is outrageously delicious and so addictive. The big negative is this nut butter comes in at $8 a jar, but it’s so worth it! Trust me! Love.
2. Trader Joe’s Sambal Matah Indonesian Salsa
How do I describe this stuff? Highly flavorsome with hints of lemongrass and garlic, oil-based texture, and has a slight kick with a hint of sweetness. I enjoy topping a cracker with hummus and this Indonesian Salsa. Also makes a great topper for eggs, avocado, and a light fish, such as, tilapia. Clearly this stuff is oily, hence a little bit goes a long way, use sparingly. Love.
3. Trader Giotto’s Vegetarian Pizza made with organic wheat flour, tomatoes, & mozzarella cheese
I’ll stock up on a few processed frozen food items because we all have those I don’t feel like cooking today moments. I had high hopes for this pizza especially since it is imported from Italy, but at the end of the day, it is just frozen pizza. I feel like there are so many other pizza varieties at TJ’s that are probably much better. Dislike.
4. Trader Jacques’ Fleur de Sel Caramel Sauce
I’m in love with anything salted caramel, the salt offsets the sweetness and it’s that sweet-salty combo I adore. If you ever wanna opt out of making caramel from scratch, save yourself some time and buy TJ’s version, it’s really good. I’ve added a little bit of this salted caramel to buttercream frosting and the outcome was heavenly salted caramel buttercream frosting. Love.
5. Trader Joe’s Organic Red Wine & Olive Oil Vinaigrette
This dressing is pretty light and dresses up salads and sandwiches perfectly. Ideally, the Red Wine & Olive Oil dressing would pair well with a Greek Salad… think arugula, Kalamata olives, artichokes, cherry tomatoes, and feta. Plus, it’s organic! Like.
Question: What are you loving at Trader Joe’s lately?
