Friday’s Favorite Things - 6.21.13
This past weekend was all about birthday celebrations and I enjoyed all my favorite things. Thanks VS for a fun filled weekend full of things I enjoy!
Unfortunately once Sunday night rolled around, I fell sick. Sinus Infection! As much as I hate taking antibiotics, I can’t seem to avoid them when I’m miserable. Though I’m not yet 100%, I feel so much better. Health is the greatest wealth!
1. Peach Cosmopolitan @ TAO
TAO is one of my favorite establishments in Manhattan, this place is P-E-R-F-E-C-T-I-O-N! This was the best birthday *surprise* dinner. Of course, I kicked off my birthday celebration with a Peach Cosmo made with Stoli Peach, Pallini Peachello, Triple Sec, Cranberry Juice, and Fresh Lime… oh mother may I? I know a couple weeks ago I mentioned how I had the most amazing cocktails in Miami, uhhh yeah, I take that back, this was just something extraordinary. Peach + Cranberry = oooooh! It’s frightening how deliciously good and smooth Tao’s cocktails are, I would risk serious health problems if I worked/lived close to Tao, but it’s a good thing it doesn't take much to get me tipsy. ~ priceless cocktails @ TAO
2. Triple Chocolate Meltdown @ Applebees
From Tao to Applebees, talk about extremes, well at least you know I’m NOT partial. :-) I can’t remember the last time I went to Applebees, but every single time I've gone, I have to order Death by Chocolate which is now called Triple Chocolate Meltdown which is essentially a Molten Lava Cake. A warm cake with hot chocolate fudge inside served with vanilla ice-cream, whipped cream, and drizzled hot fudge. Oooooooh! A favorite dessert at a franchise restaurant, and I just had to have it when we drove by Applebees... twas' a late night calling. ~ heaven @ Applebees
3. Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani
Seeing a good Hindi film brings me joy, seeing one in the theater brings me immense joy. This past weekend I finally saw Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. So my fellow readers, if Bollywood movies are your cup of tea, go see this one, 2 hours of romance, eye candy, great outfits, and fun songs. On a deeper level though, I felt the movie is about finding oneself and figuring out what it is that you want out of life. Aside from the great storyline, the cast was awesome. Deepika Pandukone is stunning! She is, in my opinion, one of the hottest Bollywood actresses at the moment, a full package – nice body, tall, gorgeous, sexy, great dressing style, good acting & dancing skills, blah, blah, blah – that’s all you need to make it big in Bollywood (*sarcasm*). Ranbir Kapoor is getting better with age, he's hot, he acts well and exudes so much confidence, and he sure can dance his ass off... love that! And the surprise for me was Madhuri Dixit, her impeccable dancing skills, her playful expressions, her timeless beauty, she has aged so gracefully and still looks incredibly beautiful at 46. Lastly, the songs are all excellent, but my 3 favorites Badtameez Dil, Dilliwaali Girlfriend, and Balam Pichkari. ~ money well spent!
TELL ME: What’s your favorite thing to do on your birthday (weekend)? Have you seen Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani? Thoughts?
