Friday’s Favorite Things - 3.22.13

1. New Girl & The Mindy Project
Now that Monday night Bachelor is over, Tuesdays may just be my favorite night of the week because I watched New Girl and The Mindy Project for the very first time, thanks to my friend Kshama.  I loved both shows, but I preferred The Mindy Project more. The writing for the show is hilarious, sarcastic, partially offensive, and totally my kind of humor. Check out both shows Tuesday nights at 9 pm and 9:30 pm on FOX!

2. Kirkland Signature USDA Organic No-Salt Seasoning
My family is OBSESSED with Costco like there is no tomorrow, and that's putting it mildly people.  When I first noticed this 21 organic spice blend at my brother’s home, a spice that he secretly adds to all his recipes, he thinks no one’s watching, but I’ve got my four eyes Nerd smile on his cooking.  One day at Costco I spotted the same 21 blend seasoning my bro uses and finally purchased it.  This stuff is so delicious and tastes good on anything, add them to roasted veggies, eggs, salads, sandwiches, and more.  I’m sure my brother is so pissed I leaked his secret, it’s a good thing I won’t see him for a couple weeks and he’ll forget all about it.  ~ $10 @ Costco or $15 @ Amazon

3. Cake Batter Cupcake @ Molly’s Cupcakes
It's been 3 whole weeks since I ate a cupcake due to cutting back on desserts for my Mexico trip.  No more!!!  Thanks to my new friend, Lauren (LaurenLovesToEat), who introduced me to Molly’s Cupcakes in New York City, I am in cupcake heaven.  The cupcakes here are so moist and delicious.  Not to mention the plethora of cupcake flavors at Molly's will leave you indecisive, Crème Brulee, Blueberry Cheesecake, Peaches n Cream to name a few.  My favorite so far is the Cake Batter Cupcake which literally tastes like cake batter with custard in the middle.  The cost per cupcake is slightly high, but whatever dude, for a seriously delicious cupcake, what’s 4 bucks?  And the best part may be there is seating available + cupcake/coffee here are served in a real plate/mug.  It's like so European!  ~ $4 each @ Molly’s Cupcakes, New York City (West Village)mollys cupcakesphoto 4

TELL ME: What’s your new favorite show on TV?  Do you watch New Girl or The Mindy Project?
Have you tried Molly's Cupcakes in NYC?

  1. Your love for cupcakes always makes me smile, Nisha! Cake batter flavored cupcakes sounds (and looks) divine...mm! And I loved that they served your coffee in a proper mug. As cute as those little ones most coffee shops use, I find them so impractical..it's all gone after like 2 sips! Although I don't love New Girl but I do watch it every so often when it's on tv- it's great time pass. I've been playing catch up with Modern Family this past week- never fails to make me laugh!

  2. New Girl is a super cute show. I need to watch it from the beginning. And there's a Molly's in Chicago. My sister took us there when we visited her. Of course the chocoholics in us chose some crazy brownie/cookie dough stuffed cupcakes! DELISH! Have a great weekend, my friend!

  4. @diaryofanIndianMum - that sounds like a perfect Friday night to me. Molly's is so good.. not sure if you've been to the Hummingbird Bakery in London (Soho), never tried it, but I've heard great things. They have Costco in London? When did that happen?

I totally didn't know there was a Molly's in Chitown.. whenever I visit I'll have to go, I think that is the original. I'll have to try other cupcakes in the coming weeks. Have a great weekend P. Thanks!

  6. @Khushboo - haha.. it's that obvious, huh? This was a big size mug of coffee, a little too big, I prefer the medium European sizes. :) I'm biased. I watched Modern Family, aside from Sophia, I never quite got into the show.. not sure why. Oh well. Have a great weekend!!!

  9. I've never seen either show but I am still so happy that an Indian girl can carry an entire show. And a Primetime one at that! So happy for her.

Hope to see you next week. I'm flexible...can come to your office if you want to have lunch near there? Let me know what works.
