Friday’s Favorite Things - 3.16.12

1. Trouser Jeans @ LOFT (purchased in Dark Rinse)
Don’t you love it when you find great jeans when you least expect it?  That’s exactly what happened when I decided to walk 40 blocks this past week so I could absorb the gorgeous weather in NYC.  The best thing about these trouser jeans is you can totally get away with wearing them to work because they look just like work pants, only denim.  Love the slim fit on these jeans which is fitted around the hips, butt, and thighs, and then flares out.  Pairs excellent with a short leather jocket and ankle boots with a mid/high heel.  ~ $70  (30% off)  $50 @ LOFTanntaylorloft

2. Bobbi Brown Protective Lotion SPF 15 @ Macy’s
One of my all time favorite moisturizers is the Bobbi Brown Protective Lotion, and it works really well on my skin during the spring & fall seasons - it just sorta makes my skin appear glow-y, smooth, even-tone, without any flakiness.  In addition, this moisturizer absorbs into my skin immediately and a little bit goes a long way.  The Bobbi Brown face lotion contains SPF as well as antioxidants which protects against sun damage and skin damaging free radicals.    So if you’re looking for a good moisturizer, I highly recommend this favorite of mine.  ~ $48 @ Macy’s or Bobbi Brown

3. Ouidad’s Curl Quencher Moisturizing Conditioner @ Sephora
If you’ve been following my blog, you probably know that I'm blessed with curly hair, or NOT.  It took me over 20 years to finally accept my thick course curly hair.  Thanks to Ouidad products, my curly hair can FINALLY look nice and tame, assuming no high humidity.  Although I have tried their Essential Daily Conditioner, I find their Curl Quencher Moisturizing Conditioner to be my favorite since my hair feels moisturized and frizz-free.  So if you have curly hair, give Ouidad a chance, you won’t be disappointed, take it from someone who has endured major hair issues.  ~ $17 @ Sephora or $15 @ Ouidad  (8.5 ounce)

  1. I LOVE finding flattering jeans when I'm not on the hunt for them -- it's such a great surprise!

  2. Finding any flattering clothes is always such a pleasure...even better when they are at steal prices! I love Bobby Brown for their foundation, will check out their lotion next time! By the way, after your post on Zara the other day, you will be happy to know that I kinda bought the store out in Dubai...ok slight exaggeration but I found loads of nice pieces :)!

  3. I'm suddenly looking at Ann Taylor Loft in a new light! Those are really cute and perfect for work.

So jealous you get to walk 40 blocks...wish I was walking them with you. On our way to Bouchon!

  4. These pants look amazing!!!! love the front pockets!!! great find!

    love K

  5. @khushboo - yeah, I really like Bobbi Brown's skin foundation, I use it on special occasions. Haha, love that you went crazy in Dubai Zara.. isn't their Spring collection awesome? :)

  6. @Ameena - I used to find Ann Taylor Loft to be very blah and boring, but some of their stuff is really cute for work, but not sure if I'd wear it outside work. Definitely great trousers! Yes, we'd totally walk to Bouchon and other bakeries! :)

  7. @Josie, @K - The pants are comfortable and flattering, and I love the front pocket detail, too!

  8. I went shopping this weekend and they had a store called the Loft and Ann Taylor Loft, not sure if they are the same-but I liked the Loft line of clothes better.
This is a nice reminder that I need to start gearing up for the humid weather. My hair does curl and frizz in that weather. I might pop in to Sephora and try some of the Curl Quencher. Hope you are enjoying the weekend!

  9. Those jeans are gorgeous - finding the right fit can be such a pain sometimes!

  10. @Tina - LOFT is the new name for Ann Taylor LOFT. Yeah, check out the Curl Quencher conditioner, it's really good! :)
    @Sarah - I know right!
