Tea time is just about my most favorite moment of the day, and in a country where everyone loves “chai,” the experience was priceless. In the midst of the chaos in New Delhi lies one of the BEST bakeries I have ever been to - Elma’s Bakery in Hauz Khas Village. If it wasn’t for my niece (cousin’s daughter), Umang, I would never have known about this wonderful bakery. This quaint little bakery reminds me of a cute café one would encounter in the West Village of New York City. They have a wide selection of tea and desserts, Red Velvet Cake, Coffee Cake to name a few, along with some delicious starters. A special thanks to my niece, Umang, who hung out with my husband and I at one of the BEST bakeries. I simply adored the tea set below. ~ a priceless experience @ Elma’s Bakery, Hauz Khas Village, New Delhi
Hot Molten Lava Cake is my husband’s absolute favorite dessert, and easily one of mine as well. So believe me when I say the Lava Lava Cake at Mocha’s is simply to die for. It is sinfully delicious and ooey gooey. Combine that with a coffee ice-cream and you’ve got a match made in heaven. Sooooooooo freakin’ good! In addition, I loved the ambience at this modern, yet homey café. If you are ever visiting India, make sure you check out Mocha which has a few locations in all major cities. ~ 150 Rs. (~ $3), Mocha @ Greater Kailash 1, New Delhi
3. Cappuccino @ Café Coffee Day
Although Café Coffee Day (CCD) is one of the biggest chains in India, (think Starbucks), I still look forward to their cappuccino each time I visit. The flavors are mild and frothy with absolutely no bitterness. I compare the cappuccino at CCD to countless cups of cappuccino I’ve enjoyed in Europe, it really is that good. You can’t miss CCD if you are ever visiting India. ~ 84 Rs. (~ $1.70) @ Café Coffee Day, Khan Market, New Delhi

Everything looks delicious! And you really can't beat the prices in India. :)

Wow I love this Friday Favorites- I actually know these places! I didn't realise CCD made yum cappuccino...will defo check it out as there's one right behind my home here! Hope you're having a great time in Delhi! Come to Mumbai!!!
@Parita - In terms of cafes, the prices are relatively cheaper than the US, dining out is another story. Just here to visit, will be back next week. :)
@Khushboo - CCD makes really good cappuccino, you should definitely try it. I hope to visit Mumbai for a culinary experience, someday, and it would be so fun if we actually met.
I am in love with the tea cup!!
love K
I will take two of each please! I am ready to experience some fancy and big bakery after reading this. I will need to talk to my husband. Enjoy New Delhi!
I'm so impressed with India! I definitely need to get back there again, especially if they have lava cake now. :)
Awwwww you're making me nostalgic now and I'm missing Delhi! I spent a good 12 years there and these are places I've been to. I lived close to Hauz Khas and even did PR for a tibetan restaurant called Zakhang in Hauz Khas Village. That tea set is adorable! I bought a teapot like that from Savannah here and it is one of my favorites. Have you ever been to Wenger's bakery in CP? When I was there, I loved their baked goodies, though I'm sure there are a million better ones there nowadays. Glad you're having fun! Take loads more pictures and share please!!
@K - I love that tea set too, I even went looking for it, but wasn't able to find one that I liked.
@Tina @Ameena - India has changed quite a bit for the better, definitely worth checking out.
@BeetleBuggy - Wow, you lived near Hauz Khas Village? Next time I'll have to check out Zakhang. I love that tea set so much. I haven't been to Wenger's bakery, in fact I didn't even go to Connaught Place this time, I'm gonna have to plan a longer trip next time, taking baby steps. :) More to come!
