Located in the Cataluña region of Spain and one of the most beautiful cities in the world, Barcelona offers some great food options. The cuisine here is known as Catalan cuisine, and some popular dishes include Pan con Tomate (bread with tomatoes), Aioli (sauce made with garlic and olive oil), Sofrito (sauce cooked with garlic, onions, and tomatoes), and more. There is something for everyone is this cosmopolitan city.
1. Il Caffe Di Francesco (breakfast, coffee bar, cafe)
Our breakfast spot every morning. Delicious coffee and pastries.
LOCATION: Passeig de Gracia, 66 08007, Barcelona (L’Eixample)
WEBSITE: Il Caffe Di Francesco COST: €
CUISINE: Bakery/Café/Coffee Bar
VERDICT: 5 / 5
Excellent. Our breakfast spot every morning, it was so good that I ate here 3 times in 3 days.
2. La baguetina (deli)
Tourist trap with extremely high prices, you don’t get what you pay for, but the food was good!
LOCATION: Passeig de Gracia, 86 08008, Barcelona (L’Eixample)
WEBSITE: La Baguetina Catalana
To me this seems more like a tourist trap due to the high cost of just 1 slice of pizza, in addition, it isn’t even a sit-down restaurant. Consider going here for just a snack so you eat less, and hence spend less. You aren’t getting what you pay for.
3. Tapa Tapa (tapas)
Great tapas at an affordable price with lots of vegetarian options.
LOCATION: Passeig de Gracia, 44 08007, Barcelona (L’Eixample)
VERDICT: 4.5 / 5
Loved. This restaurant offers lots of vegetarian and chicken options. Great food, good portions enough to share between 2 people, and roughly 5 Euros per dish.
4. Pinotxo Bar (tapas/lunch)
This place is always crowded, but despite the great reviews, I am not sure what the hype is all about.
LOCATION: Boqueria Food Market (Las Ramblas)
VERDICT: 3 / 5
Pinoxto Bar is popular spot for breakfast, but sadly we never made it to the Boqueria Food Market in time for breakfast. The tapas were just okay for me.
