Look who got another Birthday Surprise today!
My husband woke me up at 11 AM today and told me to quickly shower because we have 12 PM reservations at the Zeppelin Hall Restaurant & Biergarten. I cribbed that I didn’t wanna go so soon because I wanted to enjoy my tea and take my time getting ready. He wouldn’t budge and insisted I hurry up since the restaurant would be crowded due to Father’s Day.
I unwillingly gave in, got ready, and we left home. On the way there I cribbed some more saying I don’t understand why we need to eat out today when we ate out last night. To put it mildly, I’ve gained a couple pounds because of all my birthday festivities this week.
Once we got to the restaurant and walked towards the outside portion of the restaurant, there they were, my awesome friends waving to me… Jhiane and Marian! And then I started screaming… “AHhhhhhhhh.” I was sooooooooooo happy that all 3 of them surprised me. I loveeeeeeeeee surprises.
After eating, we headed back to my place for gift time , not that I was expecting anything, but both gifts were super sweet. Jhiane bought me this awesome French Loop Stackable Server and a cute Sweets Bag in which I’ll be carrying my baked goods in. Thanks Jhiane for such a thoughtful present.
We also enjoyed some Baked by Melissa cupcakes from New York City which Marian brought over.
What I love about these bite size mini cupcakes is that 5 of them approximately equate to 1 regular sized cupcake. It’s a brilliant idea to create mini little cupcakes so you can try various different flavors, and control your portions.
Overall, I had such a great birthday with my husband and friends, it was such a wonderful surprise the 3 of them put together. I feel so blessed to have such great friends who came out of their way to celebrate my birthday on Father’s Day… thank you all for a truly memorable birthday which I will treasure for life.
Later in the day, my husband and I went over to my parents for Father’s Day! Happy Father’s Day to all you dads out there!
And now let’s talk FOOD!
88 Liberty View Dr.
Jersey City, NJ 07305
Casual Dining, Groups, Kid Friendly (during the day).
German, Bar Scene.
MENU – $$
The prices at Zeppelin Hall Restaurant & Biergarten are quite affordable. The appetizers range from $7 to $10. Burgers and Sandwiches range from $9 to $12. Sausages are approximately $12. Sides are about $5, whereas Desserts are $8. I’m not sure what the cost of beer is.
My husband enjoyed a Veggie Burger with Fries on the side. He felt his veggie burger was dry and lacked any kind of sauce. The bread wasn’t warm or toasted either. I have to agree that his sandwich was definitely dry. The fries were good though.
VERDICT – 2.5 / 5
As much I really wanted to like this place, however the food didn’t live up to the hype. I thought everyone’s meals were pretty average with the exception of my Buffalo Wings which were good, but nothing out of the ordinary. This place is known for beer so if you are a beer drinker, this is your place. Since I’m not a red meat eater I wasn’t able to try out the sausages and all. If I do ever dine here again I will probably consider ordering something German, something off the beaten path. This is an interesting place with a cool concept to dine at with a bunch of people who wanna enjoy some very average food and good beer.
TELL ME: Have you ever tried German cuisine? If so, what do you typically order?
