I was so happy today because I got tomorrow (Friday) off. It was sort of a last minute thing. I left work at 4:30 PM and headed straight to Wegmans. I literally needed like 10 things and I ended up buying so much more. I love Wegmans, I get so lost in that store. It’s so clean and organized. I am so in love with their baking section… just the smell of baked goods and those muffins… YUM! I resisted all that good stuff, but ended up spending so much time in every other section, such as, the cheese section, the bread section, the peanut butter section, the chocolate section. I can’t help it, I am obsessed with reading all the ingredients. I need to know exactly what I’m putting in my mouth. Did you know that Nestle’s Peanut Butter Morsels contain partially hydrogenated oils? I didn’t know that until today! In any case, I ended up spending an hour and a half at Wegmans wandering the store in heels, you could imagine how sore my feet were by the end of it.
When I reached home I wasn’t too hungry. I was in the mood for something light so I thought of eating fruit. I had raspberries in the fridge, but they didn’t look appetizing enough for me. I thought of ways I could make them more interesting… uhmmm… chocolate, and that’s how Nutella came into the picture. I drizzled warm Nutella on my raspberries and then thought maybe some crunch would make this snack look better, perhaps feel a little healthier, and that’s how walnuts came into the picture. This was a fabulous snack and really satisfied my sweet tooth without the guilt.
Btw… I didn’t measure anything for this fruit glass, but I provided a rough estimate for each ingredient.
Tell Me: What’s your favorite store that you can get totally lost in?
NUTRITION: Raspberries are an excellent source of Vitamin C and Fiber. In addition to Antioxidants, they are a good source of Folic Acid and Omega 3 Fatty Acids. Walnuts are an excellent source of Omega 3 Fatty Acids. Nutella is surprisingly made of Skim Milk, however it does contain a decent amount of fat, it is hazelnut chocolate after all.
