Today was such a great day. I met up with my husband after work and we took a walk along the Hudson River for about 2 hours. We talked and talked and talked. 🙂 It was nice. It was just what we needed. It was the perfect date! If you knew my husband you would know that he’s the kinda guy who loves to come home after work, chill out, browse the web, and watch TV, and I’m the complete opposite. A 2 hour walk for him after work is HUGE. Hey, I’m not complaining, I was just happy to be out with my hubby!
It was such a beautiful day in the New Jersey/New York City area… sunny, breezy, probably around 80 degrees. We saw so many babies and dogs along the way. It seems people in the area either own a dog, or have a baby. It’s cute. It’s young. It’s vibrant. It’s actually a really nice area to raise a family, the initial years. Don’t get any ideas about me… just making an observation. 🙂
So after our long walk we were discussing where to go to dinner. He wanted to go to Chili’s… Oh Gawwwwwwd!!! I was opposed to it and wasn’t in the mood to eat fried food on a weekday. So we decided to go for Thai food which can be somewhat healthier than other cuisines.

More is a cute little date spot. They have indoor and outdoor dining in the front and back of the restaurant. The decor is casual contemporary, while the art work is ethnic. There is a burning candle on each table which gives the restaurant a nice glow during the evening hours.

More Online Menu. The prices here are pretty reasonable ranging from $10-$18 an entree. There is a $2 charge for brown rice which is a $1 more than Central Jersey. I love that this restaurant offers Sushi as well. All Sushi is 20% off. The lunch specials here are great because they come with an appetizer and an entree all for just $8… BARGAIN!
Dinner for 2 people:
1 soda + 1 appetizer + 2 entrees = $38 (including 19% tip)
RECOMMENDED HEALTHY EATS… choices below are based on my knowledge of food and nutrition. Avoid coconut based curries, avoid anything fried, avoid fried rice, and avoid noodles. Choose brown rice over white rice. When choosing Sushi, avoid tempura rolls, cream cheese filled rolls, and spicy mayo sauce. There is no online nutritional information available for More. My husband ordered Lemonade… It was good.
For starters we ordered Roti (Pancake) with Green Curry Dip. This was my husband’s choice since he loves Indian food… the roti is pretty similar, only much more oily. The gravy was a coconut based sauce with basil leaves… it was delicious.
For my entree, I ordered Chicken with Garlic Sauce and Brown Rice. The chicken is placed over a bed of mixed greens. This dish is spicy and has a lot of black pepper – I LOVED IT. I am so proud of myself for ordering one of the healthier options. GO ME!
My husband hardly listens to me when I advise him on what to eat, it’s fine, and he needs to enjoy life too. He went ahead and ordered his absolute favorite dish at every Asian restaurant… Basil Chicken Fried Rice. SIGH! However, if you are going to order Basil Fried Rice, this is the place to do it… it was amazing. This dish is a bit spicy as well and extremely flavorful.
VERDICT – 4 / 5
More is one of my favorite Thai/Japanese restaurants. This place is a bargain lunch time… you have a choice of an appetizer, entree with brown/white rice, and all for $8. STEAL! The sushi is 20% off all the time. In the past I tried the Peanut Avocado Roll which was insanely good, probably one of the best vegetarian rolls I have ever had.
Now the complaints… the food here is good almost every time, however once in a while the chicken will be a bit chewy, not sure why this happens. Just to be on the safe side, I will occasionally order shrimp instead of chicken. This has happened twice so far, but not enough times for me to stop dining here. In addition, the waiters here can be a bit rude, you may feel a bit rushed. I gave this place a 4 because in my opinion to be a 5, everything has to be just right. Although the food here is great, I have dined at Thai restaurants with even nicer decor. Despite a couple negative factors, I love this place and keep going back for MORE!
